During the 2019/2020 fiscal year, the Clay Township DDA participated in the following activities:

  • Continued contract with Project Control Engineering to explore the possibility of a sidewalk/bike path on Fruit Street, from Island Drive to Nook St. 
  • Installation of a new scoreboard at Algonac High School Football Field
  • Continued maintenance/preservation of the Township Park buildings and grounds
  • Installation of cable to support additional security cameras and wi-fi at the Clay Township Park concession stand
  • Covid-19 grant applications accepted to support businesses located within the DDA district for reimbursement of PPE and cleaning supplies

The DDA was a sponsor to the following events:

  • Annual Scarecrow Festival at the Clay Township Park
  • Sturgeon for Tomorrow-North Channel Sturgeon Classic
  • Music in the Park-Clay Township

The DDA continues to accept applications for Façade Grants within the Downtown District

DDA Ongoing & Future Projects:

  • Exercise Equipment Stations at the Clay Township Park, *with possible grants
  • Repair/Replace handicap ramps and sidewalks at Kroger, Nook Road and Muskrat Run
  • Purchase of a parcel of land, demolish existing structure to plan for a Pearl Beach Pier greenspace with restrooms
  • Pearl Beach Pier-construction of road and parking lot from M-29 to water’s edge
  • Additional capital improvements to Clay Township Park
  • Repairs to Clay Police Station parking lot
